EVENT: PSYNT Psychologists on LGBTQ+ and Mental Health

On October 18, 2018, PSYNT psychologists Mariya and Marie-Diane will give a talk on their work as LGBTQ+ psychologists. The talk, titled A Day in a Queer Life: LGBTQ+ and Mental Health, will be hosted by Leiden University Pride, and will touch on the topics of mental health issues in the LGBTQ+ community, minority stress, and representation. Marie-Diane and Mariya will also talk about their experience working as LGBTQ+ therapists in a predominantly cis/straight-dominated field. They will also discuss the ways in which sexual and gender minorities can safeguard themselves against minority stress and ensure better mental health outcomes across the board.
